About Diabetes

Diabetes is a Family Concern

In an effort to make an impact on the rapidly growing Diabetes epidemic in our country, Tatil and Tatil Life have embarked on a major Diabetes educational initiative, themed Diabetes: A Family Concern. Our mission is to join the worldwide goal of reducing the prevalence of Diabetes by 25% by 2025.

The educational campaign will have three arms:

  • Discovering Diabetes
  • Preventing Diabetes
  • Managing Diabetes.

Our approach is to raise awareness of the impact Diabetes has on the individual and to promote the role of the family, who are those closest to the diabetic. They are key players in recognizing the symptoms, supporting lifestyle changes and perhaps even caring for the diabetic. The person with Diabetes may not be the one who shops for groceries or does the cooking. And just like most of us, they often need some extra support to get some exercise. It’s so much easier to make the vital changes if family is there to urge you on.

This initiative supports strategies outlined in the Ministry of Health’s National Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Control of Non Communicable Diseases and also entails key partnerships with the NGOs involved in Diabetes education. Brochures and toolkits will be available at our branches with new additions to our resources every month. Keep checking this website for updates.
